Disc Jockey
Gary Templin brings a lifetime of experience and a steady, confident presence to every event he serves. As the founder and president of the Windy City Hitman, he’s known for a professional, highly interactive style—reading the room, guiding the flow of the night, and keeping guests engaged without ever making it feel forced. With a deep knowledge of music across eras and genres, Gary treats each celebration with special care, detail, and enthusiasm, building a soundtrack that fits the couple, the crowd, and the moment. What also sets Gary apart is how naturally he leads people.
As a former college administrator and instructor, he’s an effective public speaker who knows how to communicate clearly, manage a timeline, and keep a room focused when it matters. That background shows up in the way he emcees: organized, calm, and intentional—helping events feel smooth, polished, and enjoyable from start to finish.Gary believes the opportunity to entertain guests with the greatest music of all time is a true privilege. He approaches every event with a mindset of service and excellence—prepared, extremely organized, and fully present.
One of his favorite reminders of why he loves what he does came during a massive snowstorm when the turnout was far smaller than expected, yet the night was still a fantastic time because the focus stayed on the people who were there. And in one of the funniest moments he’s ever experienced, a young child once pulled the plug during the first dance—an unexpected hiccup that turned into a story everyone still laughs about.
His love for timeless music started early, with the first LP he ever bought: *Lazy Crazy Days of Summer* by Nat King Cole. Even small details reflect his personality—his favorite color is powder blue, and his approach is consistently professional, interactive, and guest-focused. A standout highlight in his career includes DJing Chicago Bears parties in the Payton Center at Halas Hall, an experience that matches the level of professionalism he brings to every event, big or small.
